Ulster says Best!

Hooker Rory Best has been rewarded with the Ulster captaincy for the new season. He's a talented and hard working like is brother Simon but what bothers me is where is Ireland's next Claw, Poppy or Orr going to come from? Being from the coal face myself, I'm worried by the lack of quality props in Ireland and world rugby. The nature of the position in the past led to very hard grafting but...
Scottish rugby up the creek!

Scottish rugby has had a hard time since I last witnessed Scotland destroying Ireland (Edinburgh in 1998), they really have sunk to an all time low. At the end of last season one of the three professional clubs was disbanded and now the franchisees of another team are off following a dispute over fees and players being released to train with the national side. Roll on the World Cup - Ouch!...

Having been responsible for a few rugby teams turning up on time and staying sober, it gives me solace that the Australia have the same problems. Lote Tuqiri is set to be dropped from this weekend's Tri Nations game with the Boks as he either overslept or was too drunk to wake up. Same difference. Image Uploaded with Skitch! Great to see the new England kit for the RWC. I think it will strike fear in to the hearts of.....well nobody. It's awful with the swooshy George cross going everywhere. The bit I like most of all are the red blobs on the socks, class act. Image Uploaded with Skitch! Rugby Football Union - Get your brand new England Rugby shirt – before the players
Ibanez captain, Murphy worried.

France have made hooker Raphael Ibanez captain for the world cup and this must worry Irish full back Geordan Murphy. With devastating speed and a magical sidestep Ibanez glided past Murphy to score in Croke park during Ireland's silly loss to France. Perhaps France should pick him on the wing. If you have not seen O'Gara's analysis of this score in the documentary  "Reaching for Glory", you...
Muliaina need to pay more attention...

Mils Muliaina clearly was not paying attention here is a quote from him on the NZRFU website. The scrum remains the All Blacks main weapon and was demolishing the Wallabies' in the second half before tighthead prop Carl Hayman was sin-binned by South African referee Marius Jonker for a professional foul in the 62nd minute. Fullback Mils Muliaina was adamant that was the difference. "It...

Is this the weakness in the All Blacks everyone was looking for? Striling Mortlock exposed Luke McAlister after Mils Muliaina was moved to fullback before Saturday's game. Mortlock really did nothing until ten minutes into the second half but his two line breaks led to both
